It Is Back and Better Than Ever: The Annual Woollybear Parade and Festival
The Woollybear Festival is the largest one day festival in the state of Ohio. Fox 8 Meteorologist Dick Goddard hosts the fun-filled events when the 45th Annual Woollybear Parade & Festival takes over Vermilion, Ohio on Sunday, September 24, 2017.
As any Clevelander will tell you, the woollybear is a type of caterpillar that's said to predict how harsh winters might be in a given year. The annual festival, which has been spearheaded for decades by beloved local meteorologist Dick Goddard—who will be on hand this year—pays tribute to these fuzzy prognosticators. Not only is there a huge parade, but the all-day festival boasts the Woollybear 500 Race, a King & Queen Woollybear Costume Contest and Woollybear Animal Look-A-Like Contest.
If you feel like escaping Nottingham Place Apartments in Cleveland, Ohio for the day, this event is a perfect opportunity to do just that!
